Brief Biographical Sketch:
Born in 1945. Bachelor of Agriculture(1965), Master`s in Extension Education(1968)
from BAU, Bangladesh and Ph. D. in Agricultural Extension(1976) from UPLB,
Philippines. Joined Bangladesh Agricultural University as Lecturer in 1968
and presently working as professor in Agricultural Extension Education.
33 year`s experience in teaching, research, training, field extension work, rural development activities, institution building, project management, monitoring and evaluation. Served as Rector of the Institute of Post Graduate Studies in Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture of the Govt. of Bangladesh, Director of the In-service Training Institute, Director of Extension Centre and Chairman of the Department of Agricultural Extension Education of the Bangladesh Agricultural University.
International experiences were obtained working as FAO/UNDP short term consultant in the countries like Indonesia, Cookislands, Malaysia, Iran and Iraq.
Served as team leader in a Link Research Project on Rural Development between the Bangladesh Agricultural University and Hebei University of China under the sponsorship of UNESCO, China during 1998-2000. Also served as team leader in another UNESCO supported project on Civilization due to Rice Cultivation in Bangladesh as a part of the Asian net working study groups during 1983-84.
Presently teaching courses on Agricultural Extension, Farming Systems, Environmental Studies, Socio-cultural Change, Economics of Extension both at graduate and undergraduate levels. Several doctoral and master`s students are also being supervised.
There are about 150 publications in different books, journals, proceedings of conferences and seminars etc.
